Liability insurance necessary to demonstrate the financial standing of the company

Liability insurance necessary to demonstrate the financial standing of the company involved in domestic and international transport.

Transport licence

Since December 4 2011 each road transport operator in EU has to comply with the Regulation (EC) No 1071/2009 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 21 October 2009 establishing common rules concerning the conditions to be complied with to pursue the occupation of road transport operator.

The Regulation introduces the obligation to demonstrate the financial standing of the road transport operator in the form of, e.g., reserves totalling at least EUR 9000 when only one vehicle is used and EUR 5000 when each additional vehicle is used.

The insurance’s aim is to demonstrate the ability to meet the financial obligations of the road transport operators so that they can apply for the permit, licence or additional excerpt for a new vehicle.
